Quizafaction ("we", "us", "our") operates the Quizafaction mobile application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Information We Collect

• Account information: your display name and, if you choose to register, your email address
• Email verification status: whether your email address has been confirmed, so we can unlock statistics and account features
• Game activity: questions answered, scores, and game progress
• Device identifiers for session management and fraud prevention
• Advertising identifiers (e.g. Android Advertising ID) used to serve relevant ads
• Location data — only when you play geospatial games, and only with your explicit permission

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Quizafaction service
• To verify your email address and confirm account ownership — you will receive a verification link when you register or add an email to your account
• To send account-related emails (email verification, password reset)
• To unlock statistics features for verified registered users
• To display your progress and scores within the app
• To process payments for paid games
• To serve in-app advertisements through Google AdMob

Advertising

Quizafaction displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data to show you personalised ads, including:

• Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / IDFA)
• Approximate location (country/region)
• App usage and interaction data

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your device settings under Privacy > Ads (Android) or Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising (iOS).

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate the app:

• MongoDB Atlas — secure cloud database hosting
• Stripe — payment processing
• Google AdMob — in-app advertising

Data Security

Email addresses are stored encrypted. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Email verification tokens are temporary and expire within 24 hours.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data — including your email address, display name, game history, answers, and group memberships — is permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems. Email verification tokens and password reset tokens are also deleted at that time.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data

Children's Privacy

Quizafaction is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
